GitHub Universe 2019 brought together more than 1,800 developers, executives, and industry leaders from around the world—an international community united by code and a shared drive to transform ideas into innovation.
Hosted at the iconic Palace of Fine Arts, the conference offered attendees the opportunity to hear directly from industry experts while turning familiar usernames into real-world connections. The event fostered collaboration between longtime contributors and new voices alike, creating space for the community to explore upcoming products, features, and initiatives from GitHub.
Working closely with the Manifold team both on-site and remotely, I helped develop the visual system that defined the 2019 event experience. Guided by a loose set of client parameters, I supported the overall art direction by establishing a cohesive design language and producing a wide range of digital and print assets that guided attendees through the venue.
In collaboration with 3D designers and print vendors, the system was translated into a comprehensive wayfinding and environmental graphics program that scaled across the entire event footprint—from monumental 27-foot entrance banners to intimate 5"×7" tabletop Wi-Fi displays. The visual language extended seamlessly across physical signage, digital screens, and campaign assets, creating a unified brand presence that supported navigation, discovery, and engagement throughout the event.
